Tweedledum and Tweedledee Sweet 16
Tuesday, August 5th, 2008Our Sweet 16, Abby, requested a modified Colette Peters design. The bottom teapot says Sweet Sixteen, and all of the colors and decorations on the cake were specially requested to match Abby’s colorful personality. Topping the teapot and cups are the twins from Lewis Carroll’s Through the Looking Glass, the sequel to Alice in Wonderland.
Delivering a three-tiered topsy turvy cake over the hill from downtown San Jose on winding Highway 17 to Santa Cruz is nervewracking to say the least. It was such a relief to see Tweedledum and Tweedledee still standing when we arrived at the Ideal Bar and Grill at the entrance of the wharf by the Boardwalk. Then when we set the cake down on the display table and saw the phones come out for pictures, we knew all of the care to decorate and then keep everything together was appreciated.
